Claire’s Birthday Cake

Claire is very proud of her "fish" cake.

My daughter, Anne Loxton, always celebrates birthdays with themes. This week, our granddaughter turned 8 and hers was an underwater theme with this beautiful fish as the cake. It is so beautiful that I’m sure it was hard to cut into it, but enjoy it they did, especially with all those lovely fruit jellies! Decorations were blue streamers hanging down from the ceiling and silver balloons floating about. Fun activities included making sand jewelry and drawing an octopus blindfolded. I wasn’t there, but for me, the best part of the whole celebration was the fact that Claire decided to have guests bring donations for the SPCA instead of presents for her!
