Canada Day

On Thursday, we held our usual Canada Day party with some of our good friends, several of whom contributed to the dinner. Our friend Diane made a Tomato aspic…starting out as a joke to question my opinion on jellied salads…but ending in success as everyone agreed it was delicious. This is good testimony to the fact that some of the old-fashioned favourites should be revived more often.  I have Edna Staebler’s Red Tomato Mould on my recipe page if anyone wants to bring back aspic memories.
