I have just returned from a very successful tour of Western Canada to promote A Taste of Canada. I always enjoy visiting British Columbia and Alberta when I have a new book. Besides appearing on every television and radio station going, I also taught cooking classes at Well Seasoned in Langley, B.c., Barbara-jo’s Books to Cooks in Vancouver and The Cookbook Co. Cooks in Calgary. All three were well-known and well-attended schools with full classes for me to entertain. It is always a good experience talking to people across the country who read what you write. One student came armed with 2 huge shopping bags containing almost every book I have ever written so that I could autograph them.
During the extent of my tour as well, I have been pleased at the number of young people who have attended my classes or demonstrations and have expressed an interest in learning to cook.
Now, I am in Ontario for the rest of the year, but still doing a class on November 27th in Waterloo at Household China, several radio programs, a talk at the Kitchener Public Library on December 8th and a signing at Book Express, Cambridge on December 9th. This Saturday, I’m heading to The Cookbook Store in Toronto for a signing at 2….promising to be a real party with lots of friends and the Black Forest Brownies from my book!
